As a small East Lothian based family business, our initial vision when we opened in 1991 was to create the best Scottish fish and chips.
Since then, we’ve branched out into Gelato, Seafood and Street Food events. Although our business has adapted along the way, one thing that has remained at Alandas is our passion for Scottish ingredients.
Pairing our Scottish ingredients with the latest food trends ensures we’re always offering our customers fresh and innovative menus, keeping our dishes high quality and as tasty as ever.
Over the years, we’ve grown a network of trusted local farmers and fishermen so we can source and serve only the best Scottish ingredients. At Prestonpans it’s no exception, with our ingredients being supplied by our family’s much-loved fish supplier in Mussleburgh and our potatoes picked from the soils of East Lothian.
Through using a close network of local suppliers to source our ingredients, we’re able to support other local businesses while simultaneously reducing our food miles and carbon footprint.
Our pizza dough is also handmade every day by our experienced pizza chefs, whilst our famous fish and chips are freshly cooked to order.
We work continually throughout the day to make our gelato fresh in our Edinburgh and North Berwick parlours with locally sourced ingredients of the highest quality to continue making our award winning gelatos and sorbets.
Taking special care in every step of the process, from pasteurising the milk to selecting the best cream, milk and seasonal strawberries – all our gelato is hand-crafted by our family using milk from local Edinburgh Dairy suppliers and picking the freshest seasonal fruit from surrounding fruit farms.

At our Longniddry seafood street food unit, you can choose from a selection of sustainable and locally sourced seafood.
All our food is freshly prepared onsite, from our marinated prawns to our lobsters caught in Eyemouth. We create mouth-watering dishes daily from our Scottish ingredients and innovative menus, not forgetting our secret family recipe which we’ve been using to cook our food to perfection for over sixty years!
Selling a delicious selection of grilled lobster, mouth-watering seafood tacos, hot smoked salmon, flavoursome seafood chowder and much more, our street food units showcase an innovative take on seafood all from the waters of Eyemouth.
We work with some of the industry’s top suppliers in Musselburgh as well as quality local suppliers to deliver fresh, sustainable seafood – all of which is prepared directly on site to ensure our customers receive the best taste, freshness and overall experience.
