Situated 8 miles east of Edinburgh, this small fishing town lies on a gentle slope overlooking the bay towards Edinburgh. Previously a coal-mining town and formerly known as the Battle of Gladsmuir, Prestonpans is full of rich history and heritage.
A must-see when visiting Prestonpans is Preston Tower. If you’re seeking a historic fix then Preston Tower’s ancient ruins from the 14th century are a must-visit.
