Starting at the Source
Our vision, to produce and sell our very own mouth-watering Scottish ice cream, began with sourcing the finest ingredients, such as the dairy we use.
It is so important for us to know exactly where our milk comes from for our Scottish ice cream, which is why we took the time to find a good, local supplier. For us, that’s Dairy Farmer Gavin Redpath who owns and runs his own farm, and who takes immense pride in ensuring his ‘gorgeous pampered cows’ are well kept, grass fed and sustainable in order to produce the highest quality milk and cream… and you really can taste that creamy difference in our gelato. We were even lucky enough to meet them at The Royal Highland Show:
Combining Flavour and Creativity
Our delicious flavours are at the heart of what we do, and we’re so lucky, and proud to have our Head Gelato Chef Valentina, who single-handedly develops all of the flavours for our Scottish ice cream offerings through tedious trials and pure craftsmanship. Valentina has always had a creative streak and her passion for art, baking and cooking, with a flair for spotting the latest trends and conducting meticulous market research, is evident in the wondrous flavours she creates.
Ice Cream Happiness
Did you know that ice cream stimulates the happy hormone? Our offerings contain the perfect balance of protein and fat, both of which our bodies need to help level our moods. And, with the amino acids you take in when eating ice cream, such as tryptophan (known to increase serotonin production) you’ll not only enjoy our amazing flavours, you’ll feel happy and calm!
Our Summer Flavours
The sun is shining and your taste buds need quenching… Now is a great time to pop to our Edinburgh or North Berwick stores and try our summer flavours! We always locally source ‘in season’ ingredients, which means that you’ll find strawberry, raspberry and rhubarb loaded ice creams alongside your usual favourites.
Look out for us this summer as we’re not only serving in our Edinburgh store and North Berwick parlour, we’re popping up at the Edinburgh Fringe (5-29 August) too.
What’s more you can find our fish and chips being served up at George Street and our Gelato at George Square for the whole of August.
That means you can enjoy Alandas street food all summer long in Edinburgh with all four of our street food units making appearances in the city.
